How to remove a unit?

I own two Garmins, a 'V' and a 'Quest', both registered to use my version 7 software.

The 'V' (not that I use it much) has packed up and I'm looking at a 2610.

Problem is, how do I deregister the 'V' so that the 2610 can be added to my software?

Anyone been through this problem?

(Yes, I know that the 2610 will have its own new software but my plan is I'm going to hold that back until version 8 appears and get the upgrade.)
