Version 5 Auto Power Up and Auto Switch Off

Since I upgraded to V5 it seems that the TTG automatically powers up when the power from the lead (cigarette lighter socket) comes on. Also if I leave it on and the power to the unit goes off it switches it self off, after a few minutes (not timed this yet). Is this a new feature? I can't see it on any of the reviews. Before anyone asks yes my unit is fully charged! This is a feature that I suggested to TTG, as most handheld GPS switch off after a period of not moving. So perhaps it is a new feature? My cigarette socket powers down when the ignition key is removed.

It's working correctly. It's a new feature, but it only does it with the mounting unit, not with the mains adapter.

It is also not affected if you are running on batteries only. TTGO will stay on untill you turn it off.
