I've had MM Navigator for a few months now and think that it's a very useful product, although I'm painfully aware of the limitations regarding the structure of the waypoint and route list, and also the irritating lack of altitudes in the waypoint properties. I would have expected some sort of updates, particularly now that Fugawi seems to be making big strides, but I've yet to see any upgrades or even a hint of such on their website. I registered for e-mail news, but I've heard absolutely nothing. Seeing Fugawi make fairly regular software upgrades makes me feel that MM aren't making any efforts to improve the situation. Does anyone know if MM will be issuing (free) upgrades to address these widely-recognised issues, or are we stuck with what we've got? |

Eric,
I would be very surprised if Memory Map gave out a major free upgrade as you are suggesting.
The Memory Map functionality as regards Waypoints, Routes and Tracks has been well documented certainly in our review, and is what the product is. Maybe in the next update they may address this, but I would not expect it to be free. On the otherhand I would expect quite a bit of functional enhancement otherwise an upgrade would be hard to justify. _________________ Mike Barrett |

What you say makes hard-headed commercial sense. I guess I'm just a bit miffed that I bought the significantly more expensive product, only to see Fugawi apparently catch up and then take the lead, with zero response from MM. Unfortunately, I hadn't found your reviews at the time of purchase, but I'll certainly be keeping my eye on the site from now on. I know I obviously sound negative about MM, but I've found it to be an enormous benefit in route planning and enhancing GPS functionality and now can't imagine a day in the hills without it. I'm just not happy about having to spend probably another £100 for a few minor enhancements and to get to where Fugawi now seems to be. |
