Hi there,
Just purchased my first Bluetooth GPS, a Globalsat BT388. Compared to my old emtac jacket, the performance is astonishing, particularly the time to first fix, which is almost instantaneous.
My query related to the bluetooth connections. When using TomTom 3, there is the option to connect using either the NMEA or SIRF bluetooth. I can get a signal using either, but was interested to know if there are any performance advantages between the two?
Sorry to say that this is an indepth topic. TTN3 (like most of the products out there ) only works on NMEA. _________________ iPhone5, TomTom, Google maps, Navfree, Viewranger and Apple Maps (ekk)

For the record TT3 works fine with EITHER SiRF or NMEA data, its only TT5 that is NMEA data type ONLY.
If you are thinking of upgrading to TT5 at any point use the TT3 GPS driver to switch the unit across to the NMEA mode before tying to connect the GPS to the unit. _ Mike
