tomtom go 300

Hi ive just got myself a tomtom go 300 .i wanted the 500 but couldnt wait . can any one tell me is the tomtom go 300 an upgrade of the tomtom go classic . i just cant understand why the 300 is so much cheaper . also the tomtom go 300 is bluetooth. will there be any sortwear that would make it so that you can answer your phone like the 500 ? as it is bluetooth? thx Ama

I think what the Go 300 has bluetooth for is simply for traffic and weather etc. I believe it uses a custom Linux install to run. Not sure if the 500 and 700 have extra hardware to use the additional services they have or if its all done in software. If it was software there might be a way round it but I bet TomTom have "locked" the 300 somehow.

My understanding from our discussions with TomTom is that the 500 and 700 have faster processors and additional hardware (mic) to perform the Hands Free carphone functions.
