OK, 3 things to check:
1. Power to GPS Receiver?
2. In GPS Status | GPS Tab is The box next to The GPS Receiver and COM Port settings ticked?
3. Do you have a keyboard driver installed? If so disable or remove it. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Plug the Leadtek into the Pocket PC, run up TomTom Navigator 2, then go into the GPS Status screen, on the GPS tab make sure you select TomTom Navigator GPS and Serial Cable on COM1 and retick the box. The goto Status and the satellite to Pocket PC line of dots should start animating. If it doesn't, you have a problem.
You can also try selecting the driver NMEA 0183v2 4800 and Serial Cable on COM1.

Ok, you're going to have to do a bit of tech work to see if it's a problem with the receiver, or the software.
Download WinFast Navigator on our downloads page, install this to the Pocket PC and it will give you an icon on the start menu called Navigator.
Run up Navigator from your Start Menu on the Pocket PC. Tap View | Development, then Tools | Port Settings and select NMEA, select COM1 4800 and tap OK. This will start a connection to your GPS Receiver.
Do you see text coming down the screen ? or a blank screen ? Or do you get an error ? There's a round circle far bottom right, is this flashing away nineteen to the dozen ? |

If you use a package like WinFast Navigator (on our downloads page), it will tell you what COM port is being used by which when you go to select it under CONNECTIONS. |

Because you're plugging it in via the bottom sync port, it will always be COM1. The receiver should be in NMEA mode, so the only other option is the baud rate. Leadtek receivers use 4800, which pretty much is the standard for all NMEA receivers, although some can run a little faster.
If you are getting no connections on COM1, NMEA, 4800, and you have no keyboard drivers enabled on the iPAQ (and no other devices apart from the cradle or power charger that plugs into that bottom socket), then try and connect on COM1, NMEA and each available baud rate. I suspect it will fail on every baud rate. If it does, there's one of two problems here, either another faulty receiver, -or- you have a faulty connector on the bottom of your iPAQ. Perhaps a pin's bent or snapped, or just isn't connecting with the circuit board.
The 3800 cables for the mouse will work with the 3850, 3870, 3950, 3970 and 5450. |
