Please Help. I have been using my Tomtom3 with a PretecCF for some time. I recently made the jump to Bluetooth with a Holux GR231 and yet, I can't get the two to talk to each other. In the Bluetooth manager, it can find it but not much else. It's not the Holux as it worked straight away with my wife's PDA. I had already updated to the latest 02 Rom (1.72.00) upgrade and I've turned off the IR beam. Please help!

Ahh, thanks for that. I'm unable to find Bluetooth tools in downloads. Would you have any ideas as to where I can find it (and how easy it is to use). Many thanks.

What ROM version do you have? The last sanctioned ROm from 02 was the v1.72 which fixed a number of BT problems and is well worth having. With v1.72 you don't need any 3rd party utils such as BT Tools to get the GPS communication functioning.

Oops, so it does! In that case he shouldn't need BT Tools for it all to work.

What COM Port are you using in TomTom? It should be COM5?

Change to COM5, it's counter intuitive I know because when you bond it announces it has created a BT Com Port on COM6! COM5 is in fact the BT COM Port for GPS communication.

pocket bt tools redefaults the comport to com7 you must deleate the bt pairing and then repair the gps to the xda the after this if you go to the gps applet in tomtom youll see the holux gps on com 7 usde this and then use a baud rate of 3800

Fantastic Stuff. I loaded up the BT tools, deleted the pairing and started again. The thrill it gives you when that data started downloading and plotting my position. Very Happy. Thanks once again for your help and perserverance from this noobie. Cheers Guys.
