I am posting this in this forum and the Pocket PC forum as I do not where this should stand.

My hx4700 works beautifully. However, I have made an interesting discovery. Running TTN3 for a while on it and today I noticed that even if the GPS is in the CF slot, it does not power up until the TomTom Nav 3 starts, when the GPS program has a specific Driver for the card. However, any other application (Mapopolis, GPS Dash and GPS Gate) cannot start the GPS.

I have spoken to HP and they are surprised by this.

So, is this an Ipaq problem and the power up is only going to function when the driver is loaded or a Pretec problem where on hx4700 it won't work with a nudge? It worked well on the 3870 and 5550 I had with it's expansion jacket as it was always on, even without the TomTom Driver.

Can I use the TomTom 3 driver somehow to trick the card or is my Ipaq knackered....

Thanks
Simon

Got it finally working.

You need to tell COM 6 (yes 6) to activate and the GPS fires up!
