Fotuna Clip-on BT GPS, HP iPAQ H5555 and Fugawi OS map s/w

Using the above combination my Fugawi software reports "No GPS Fix". I know the BTGPS is working because it's fine with my PC also using Fugawi s/w. The iPAQ pairs with the BTGPS okay but eventually drops out of BT Active Connections on my iPAQ presumably because the Fugawi software is failing to communicate with it? I've tried setting the GPS Preferences up under Fugawi using varions com ports including 5 & 8 configured for 38400bps and NMEA 0183 but without success. I've done h/w resets and software re-installs until I'm blue in the face.

I'm getting to the end of my patience with this and HP, Fortuna or Fugawi support have not been able to offer any useful support advice other than to indicate the problem probably sits with the other

Please can anyone offer any suggestions other than to throw the lot thru the window
