HI occassionly (though it is on the increase) the commands and warnings from Tom Tom on my phone (spv c500) are very distorted. I am thinking of reinstalling Tom Tom, but would like to keep all my favourites, history files and setttings. Can anyone please tell me which file or files these details are stored in, or better still has anybody else had this sound problem and found a solution to it. Thanks in advance Paul |

You can certainly not fix these distortions by reinstalling TomTom. The only reason I can think of would be low RAM or maybe other programs running in the background. Have a look at those options. _________________ Lutz

I have already checked that out to be honest. I have nearly 3.5mb of free memory plus there are no other programs running. Thought it was the phone at first but had to get a new phone on my insurance with orange and its still the same. I think i will defrag the mini sd card to see if that helps.

3.5MB? That sounds very low. You should have at least 10 to 15 MB free. _________________ Lutz

I cant have that much free on a C500 when the maximum available memory i have is just over 9 mb. The maximim program memory i have is 21.68 mb, operating system plus other hidden programs uses appox 12mb. I suspect that the E200 and nokia 6600 has even less available memory as they have less memory then the C500. Plus when i do have programs running which reduce my memory even more the screen refresh rate slows down so i know when the memory is too low. To be honest i dont suspect this to be a memory problem, more a file problem or the mini sd card not transferring the file as quick as it should. |
