Is it me, or is the quality of the traffic reports dubious?

On four separate occasions this week, it warned me about serious holdups on the A31 and M27 heading east, so each time I asked TTN to avoid the holdup. When I enquired of other people who'd driven the same route at the same time, they told me that there was no holdup.

In fact, on one occasion, I avoided one (phantom) holdup only to get stuck in another holdup which Traffic did not know about.

I'm starting to think that consulting a fortune teller would be more productive.

Which cowboy outfit provides this data?

Traffic data is provided by iTIS who until recently were the only provider of TMC data. RAC have recently won a licence to provide a TMC service but as yet haven't begun such.
