mitac mio 268

hi everyone
i just got a mio 268 good bit of kit
is it possible to load tom tom 5 on it i bought that software from someone with a sd card he said it was quite simple to do this i have tried everyway
to put it on but i cant do this on the is there anyway possible to do this
i would be very gratefull if someone could tell me how to do this.......

Basically the Mio268/269 are locked systems, without hacking the software it not possible.

Yes this is true, but check all the threads on this messageboard and you will see that many of us have unloacked the potential of the mio and are running TomTom, poi software and lots of other applications.

The install is a little fiddly, but dont be put off - it is well worth the effort!

Having just had my pda and receiver stolen I am now in a no GPS situation. I want to take gps to France with me next month having done so since TT1,2,3. I am looking hard at the Navamn 510(good deal with premium maps and the Mitac 269 which I would hack on put on TT3 (I have all the maps) and then upgrade my TT3 to get TT5 which I can TT have confirmed this route is OK.

Does the Mitac with TT3/5 work smoothly or should I consider another route. No a lot of time to organise but also need for my work which takes me to anywhere in the UK.
Any sensible comments much appreciated.
Perhaps a single hack mitac thread/forum would be a good idea. Confused

NOTE: IT SEEMS THAT A VISIBLE GPS MOUSE IS NOW A GOOD REASON TO BREAK INTO A CAR. because that is all that could be seen in my car.
