Can I Just stick the TTG to the dashbord like the Garmin C320or does it have to be mounted on the mounting arm?

technically it doesn't have to be mounted (it has it's own battery) but it's pretty heavy, and way too expensive to serve as a flying cannonball. The mount is highly recommended.

No... I mean is there a mount that 'sticks' the body to the dashbord directly without all the suction mount gubbins?

No. You wouldn’t need to anyway, the screen mount is impressive enough and very positionable. It does come with a disk to mount to your dashboard then stick the mount to that but I have yet to see anyone who uses it that way. See link for mount options & pics.
