Hi all. This is my first post here. :D
What I currently have is the Copilot Live 3.5 version with the bundled GPS receiver jacket. This jacket is called CoPilot GPS Jacket Model IGPSJ Model Number D15A8. I am using this with a Compaq iPAQ 3630 Pocket PC.
What I want to do is to upgrade to TomTom Navigator 3 software, but I do not want to change my Pocket PC or my GPS jacket.
My jacket works with another peice of freeware called VisualGPS and it works set to port COM4 with a baud rate of 4800bps. So will it work with TomTom 3?
I really like the 3D maps and the fact that the congestion charge is included, also the GUI looks more user-friendly. Am I right?
Many thanks for any help in advance. |

Yes, it will work with TTN 3.
However, as of TTN4 jacket GPS are no longer officially supported. Let's just hope TomTom change their mind on that. _________________ Lutz

Oh, actually, I'm thinking of getting Tomtom 2 instead (much cheaper) ! Is that also compatible?
I am sick of CoPilot making me pay so much (£99) to upgrade whereas tomtom offers better upgradeability. Had I known this, I would have bought TomTom in the 1st place! Oh well, you live and learn! Also 3D maps are something I want...
Do you know of any problems with TT2? Is it better than CoPilot 3.5?
Many thanks,
jibberjabber. |
