Many stability and lockup problems can be related to the memory card you're using.

Can you post the manufacturer, type, size and details of any markings on the back of the card?

I'm getting fairly regular lockups on a Mio 168. On two others (namely PiN 100 and PiN 300) I'm not seeing any, yet they all have the same ROM versions.

I've even hard reset the Mio 168, and not installed any NAV software and still get the same problem when running other apps, so I think it's probably a faulty PPC.

It's very annoying when it happens!

My Mio 168 also locks up all the time, even when left switched off overnight in the cradle.

I've just got used to prodding/resetting it many times a day and assumed that this was normal for PPCs as it is the first one I've owned. Reading this thread, at least I know I'm not alone!

Yes, same as mine that I just purchased last week, MFG Date : 2005.02 shown on rear label of unit, so looks like it has not been updated at all, but have not had any lock-up's using Navigon 4.2 on it so far.

Hi,

I've had my MIO 168 now for 8 weeks. I had no problems, then changed the SD card, and lock ups happening regularly :x . took the card back, bought a Kingston 512MB card - and Bingo, no more problems Smile .

I have posted the details of the card on the what works / what doesn't work forum.

My ROM version is the same - 168WWER22, MFG Date 2005.01

I've had my Mio 168/TTN3 since just before Christmas and have not had any lock-ups in use.
