Hi there
I think this has been said in this thread or another one that the Naviagtor file is missing in V4.
All I can say is if you got to:
http://www.navigating.de/MN_en/POI/Index_Choice.htm
They have a system that should run on yours.
Sad to say I do not have Navigator 4 and cant really afford to get it to make use of the above software, I need to find a cheap place that sells it although thats hard to find. |

Hi I've been in spain the past month playing with my 150 (works great with downloaded maps) so I got a bit behind with the camera database.
I've now converted the speed cameras from 30/05/2005.
This file speedcameras3005.zip can be downloaded from
http://www.active-soccer.co.uk/The%20Medion%20MDPNA%20150.htm.
I have checked the portsmouth cameras they seem to be fine. |

Hi Bob
Hope you had a good time in Spain? :D
I have now managed to update my PNA175 to Med NAv 4.4 and have loaded POIWarner on it so all is now well with the cameras etc, I have also updated all the cameras in Portsmouth to reflect the situation on the ground so to speak.
Keep up your good work though.
Cheers

I have just bought my first pocket GPS - the PNA 175 with version 4.4 on and would like to add the camera info.
As a complete novice, can you tell me how I go about obtaining and adding the overlay.
Is it available free or do I have to buy it, if so what do I buy?
It is easy to install, are there any directions written down that I could follow?
I have looked at the POI-Warner site and the others it mentions but at his moment in time it is not clear to me what I have to do.
Can someone help?
Thanks. |

Hi there beighton
If you want the speed camera database for v4.4 you will have to get a program called POiWarner (The one you mentioned earlier). Make sure you only download the program that suits your pna Navigator program, in your case Version 4. Also make sure you have an Activesync connection to your pc or else it wont work.
www.navigating.de/Home_en
Once you PAY for that program (Around £19) and it is installed on the PNA175 you can register at the site POIHandler, this costs around £8 which allows you to download the information for a yearly subscription on the speed camera updates, this site also has many other POI's on it, Restaurants etc but you pay the subs only for the cameras.
www.poihandler.com
Once you have paid the subs and set set up your passwords/profile etc on the POIHandler site you then, on the pna175 in the POIWarner program, put in your user name. This then allows you to connect via Activesync to the POIHandler website and sync all the data you need.
It takes a while to suss out how to do it but it comes quickly.
I hope this helps

hi,
i am very new to the gps market.
aldi in the UK are doing what i believe is the medion gps (tomtom go lookalike ish) for just under £250
its a father's day gift and i have a few questions:
will the speedcamera database work for this system?
will it detect and bleep etc?
how much is the annual cost?
do i have to buy much on top of what i get from the shop?
is it easy for a novice to setup in a few hours?
i am happy that it can guide my dad on his journey BUT it must be able to function as a speed camera detector. just wanted to know if this unit did it.
thanks in advance |

Beighton I am glad to see you have got it working ok and I hope my istructions helped.
Mak_attack, but sorry my pc has been down for a week due to a hard drive problem that caused me to reinstall the whole operating system from scratch, luckily I had a back up, due to this I have only just seen your text.
I did see the unit in Aldis's but did not see what software they were using, I think it was the Medion Nav 4 in which case its yes to all your questions.
If you read further up this post you will see how to get the cameras working from a brief descrition I did for Beighton.
I am sorry again but I am guessing that I am too late in answering your post anyway and I hope you have bought it and had success with it.
Regards

The Medion in Aldi this week has Navigator 4.75 installed. Will these instructions work with this version?
Thanks |

Hi there SteadyEddy
Yes it should work is the answer to your question.
The POIWarner program is for V4 and the new V5 of the Medion Navigator.
Make sure you download and install the correct POIWarner version for the version you have on your PNA or else it wont work.
You could download V5 aswell so if you get an upgrade to your Medion Navigator program to V5 you can then update the POIWarner version too to match it.
Hope this helps.
Regards

I have bought the Aldi Medion unit, and then bought (for about £20) the POI Warner software to put on the speed cameras. There is no subscription required, the speed camera database is free from here. All is working well, and I am very impressed with it. |
