Why are we suggesting a reformat when we don't know whether the card is full or not? Smile

It might not be full, but what we do know is that it doesn't appear to be behaving as it should.

If something has become corrupt, a re-format might be the thing to cure it.

Something, somewhere is stopping the card from behaving

True but without a valid backup it's not an option worth investigating?

SD cards are relatively cheap, so what about investing in a new one and trying to copy from old to new - might that work?

I think I saw somewhere that the card in question won't backup

Without trawling through all the posts, perhaps an attempt to copy the contents to a folder on the PC should be tried?

If that works then we can consider a format?

Varonica, are you confident enough to create a folder on your PC and then to copy the contents of the memory card (all files and folders) to this new folder?

I just tried to format using Windows Explorer and an error massage shown that 'you do not have sufficient rights to perform this operation'

What should I do now?

I am an Administrator, not a Computer Administrator. Does it make any difference?

NO.
In that case I don't know why it's saying you don't have sufficient rights.

Is the card the original from purchase?
if so check the side of the card there may be a PHYSICAL switch to protect the contents of the card from accidents.................like formating.

If not original Still check the side of the card for a switch or tab or something. It's like the copy protection from old style 31/2 inch floppies.

Sorry mate... that was the first thing we suggested (see the reply from Sun Feb 24, 2008 11:57 pm and the two from Monday Feb 25th at the top of page 26), and she's checked it's not locked.

Did you ever get it sorted, varonica?

The advice we give is to times speed by 10 i.e. 30mph Cameras = 300yds, 50 = 500yds etc etc.

Or use this table, 20 seconds should be more than sufficient warning:

Sorry, Table wouldn't allow itself to be posted.

Hi Darren;

I've just subscribed and have installed the Canada database for here in Canada and the Europe Km database for a trip I'm planning this summer. After a couple of false starts I finally read the instructions correctly and everything seems to have installed correctly. Unfortunately I'm not mathematically inclined to do conversions Embarassed so I'm wondering if you might have a similar chart to the one above except for speeds in Kilometers instead of miles per hour and warning distances in metres instead of yards.

Speeds in Canada are also in Kilometers so could I use the European ogg files and just rename them for the Canada speed files (I haven't actually unzipped the Canada files yet but assume there are speed zoned files included)?

All advise is greatly appreciated.

You could try just doubling the yards figure. This would give you a little extra warning time. This would give you about 25 secs warning rather than 20 secs.

I understand that there is a kph warning file in the pipeline.

You can rename ogg files to suit your own requirements.

There's ANOTHER kph file in the pipeline. There already is one. Wink
