hello all,
i am a newbie in gps, i have ipaq 2210 rom 1.10 bluetooth version 1.4.1 built 60. i am planning to get bt 338 with iguidance v2.1, i heard alot of bluetooth connection problem using 2210, among the problems, constant soft reset; froze; bluetooth disconect etc, is this most likely problems i am going to face when i get gps system?
i downloaded bluetooth tweaker and select 2210, didnt do anything. i heard how good about ss3 chipset but then again, with the problem 2210 facing, i am not sure will justify the agravation. i've been thinking to get haicom 303s&bt401 instead, i figure if i cant use bt401 i can always use cf 303s to navigate.
Anyone successfully using bluetooth gps with 2210 rom ver 1.10? any work around it?

your help is really appreciated.
thanks a million.

Hi there,

I have a 2210 and use it extensively with a Globalsat BT receiver and TT3.

I have previously experienced all of the problems you have spoken of but that was when I was using SD card (including Panasonic) to store my TomTom maps on.

Since July last year, I have stored my maps on CF cards and have not experienced one lock-up, freeze etc. I use Kingston CF cards but I guess that any reasonable brand of CF will do the trick.

Hope the message is clear enough. If you research the forums, you will find the same basic message repeated ad-infinitum.

Regards,
Steve

As Steve has said, the solution is to use CF Memory for map storage. Some have had success with certain brands of SD but CF reolves the issue completely.

I use a 2210 with CF and a BT receiver, works great.
