Pc-Mobile BTA01/Etrex

I am using the BTA01 with Garmin Etrex/iPaq 3970 with M.M.2004 installed.Whilst I am obtaining my position it is not showing my track as I walk which is surprising as I understood from your review that they were compatible.Any advice would be appreciated

It showed your position so it is compatible!

The compatibility of features between software-hardware vary enormously.
So this is between MM and Garmin and you have to consult both as to why it did/did not.

What happens is, the feature (track) required in your software requires certain output from the GPS which was not there. Some change in the GPS configuration may change it.
But you have to ask MM as to what is required and what GPS is compatible.
I do not think they can answer you the latter part though.

May be someone who has used both can answer.
