Does anyone know how to get tomtom navigator 3 to override the system setting for backlight?

Currently in settings for my backlight I have a tick box against:

"On Battery Power

Turn off back if device is not used for 30 sec"

Obviously when I'm using tt3 then the backlight goes off within 30 secs. Is there anywhere i can get the backlight to stay on just for when I'm using tt3?

thanks.

It is the only resolution. TTN does not have an overide on backlight. It does for it's voice commands, but not the backlight. I suggest you invest in a cigerette lighter charger and keep it on external power.

Another thread in another forum has shown that when the battery gets readlly dead, you get massive problems (like a hardware reset)

thanks for the response its interesting you say that cos TT Mobile for smartphones does the override.

I've just now tested it on an Orange SPV running TT Mobile for smartphones and the backlight stayed on all the time within the application. Mind you, I didnt actually have to force any setting within TT to do this, it was a default thing!

thanks!
