Is it possible with V3, as with V1, and apparently not with V2 to save present location as a favourite? Just before I take the plunge.

Yes, it is. On the PPC version, tapping the screen gives a popup menu, the fifth item of which is "Add to favoutites". I'm not sure that the iCN6xx range has such an easy method, but the procedure is explained on page 23 of the User Manual.

| Yes, a 630 with V3 software can save the current location as a favourite, but only from the 2d map view, not from the 3d view. |

| On the 630, from the 2D map, Press OK and you see cross hairs appear. Put them over the location and press OK again to get a menu come up. I think it's the 4th menu item "Add to Favorites" you need. |
