I have uploaded your corrected voice file but it still seems to be the same for me.

Of course I mean downloaded. Tom Tom's software seems to have been checked as thoroughly as my post!

Just tested it on my GO500 and it works well. Make sure your build number indeed says 5643

Just downloaded 5643 again (the file says 5643) and still got the same problem, once transferred to my TTG500.

Beep 1 is a hooter, 2 3 & 4 are horns, but all the others are gatso/speedcam warnings as they are meant to be.

Sorry!
Steve

Mine is the same as Steven-f. I checked the version and yes it is 5643, renamed to data.chk.

Mine is the original Tom Tom Go with the updated 5.42 software

I am not talking about the file name (i trust you have downloaded the right one) but about the program version. If you run the 5643 data.chk file on a 5640 system this will most probably fail.

My suspicion is that TomTom initially had 5640 on their site, then pulled that and now show 5643, both marked as TTGO 5.420 ...

Please re-download from http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/tomtom-poi-alerts.php

Thanks for new file Lutz.
"Broken product" - probably why they have withdrawn it. You would have thought they would have heard about "testing".

Regards

Think it was always 5643 as I loaded the new firmware before they pulled it this morning and my system says 5.42 (5643/etc).

However, your new data.chk file now seems to work for me.

I have installed 5.420 and it's working. I am about to install the new data.chk but I am intrigued by the fact that all my warning sounds after the upgrade have turned to a telephone ring tone. I have not yet reset any warning sounds, just installed 5.42. I would have expected that the 15 warning sounds might have got confused, but for all to change to the telephone ring tone, which is not one of the 15 anyway, seems strange.

Hi I have read all of the posts as I also have the poi voice problem but not the same on as the other guys.
I loaded the 5.42 upgrade (the second correct one , the first one screwed my Tom Tom Plus as well as bringing back the bells and whistles so I reverted to 5.201 before loading the second "correct" one)

On loading the latest data.chck file all the sounds including the copyright message bar one are correct. This is the Gatso for the beep1 replacment which plays "ding dong gatso".

Why is this happening, I do not understand lutz statement about Tom Tom broken software.

I was using Liz's voice from Ray's site but this does not currently work under 5.42.

Any inputs appreciated

confused newbie!

Ray needs to change his code (as I changed mine) to cater for TomTom's broken file structure.

Thanks for the reply Lutz, is the "ding dong gatso" correct then I do not remember having it before?

Is it part of Tom Tom's sloppy code?

FYI my info shows App 5420 (5643/051108) etc same as the other guys
