Is it possible to speed up the Demonstrate Route facility? I could possibly drive to the destination in the time it takes to see the demonstration on the Dell Axim!

This question has nothing to do with the above. Is it possible for me to see the width of your pages on my screen without having to scroll backwards and forwards? I have Windows 98SE. (It's a problem I have on some other WebSites as well.)

Thanks. Thanks, too, for a brilliant Forum. You have solved all my problems so far!

no the demo route works in real time - next to no use as far as I'm concerned, its been like this on ttn1 through to 3 (not sure if the "common platform" version 4 offers it - would be a good ommission I think).

As for the siz of the web page I use this site on various pc's and at 1024 x 768 it looks fine at 600 x 800 you will see this - try to increase the screen resolution on your pc (windows 98 is not the problem):

right click the mouse on the desktop then click properties then setting then move the slider up to the next position - unless you're using an lcd with a max 800 x 600 resolution you should be able to increase this setting - depending on the monitir and graphics card of course - you may find the text is then too small to read. - time to upgrade to graphics card and/or your monitor, 1024 x 768 is the minimum default for most site these days - try reading this site on your pda for real problems

HTH

Thanks for your help. I'm glad I didn't sit watching the 'demo route' for a 300 mile trip which I'd planned! I don't see the point of having a demo in real time.

On the subject of the screen, I changed the setting from 800x600 to 1024x768 (which is the max on my system) but, as you suggested, the text is too small to read in comfort. Mine was set to 800x600 16 bit. Would changing it to the 24 bit option or the 32 bit option make any difference? I am no expert in these matters.

Thanks.

Hello snowball

I use Navigon gps software, and in simulation mode it goes along at 22mph so the speed reading shows at the bottom of the screen.

There is a simple reason for that - endless loops in points of sale, at exhibitions and fairs.

Basically another useless function at the customers expense for which 90% of users don't need.
If it could be given a vairable speed controlled by a slider bar, then it could be of some use to users.

it not a function for current owners, it's a function for potential buyers. Live with it...
