What else do I need

A friend of mine has a compaq Ipaq 3950, after recently going out for a spin with me in my car decided he had to have sat nav.

He phoned me yesterday to say he's just brought tomtom 3 software and is asking me what else he needs.

Now I'm a bit dim here because my setup is a Mio 168 with Miomap so it all came ready to go with everything included. I did get out of him that he only has software, no car kit and no receiver.

What does he need and any suggestions on what's best to buy would be much appreciated.

He's bought the software and nothing else? Bad move on his part I think, can he send it back and get a refund?

The reason I say is that the sofware is quite expensive in relation to the bundle with the GPS receiver included. Assuming he actually bought the software and didn't rip it off!

Anyway, I think you've already answered the question, he needs a receiver and a car kit. Both of which can be bought seperately from TomTom.
