I have been using TomTom 2.22 with my Ipaq 3870 with no problems for a while but recently when I connect it all up it can often take about 30 mins to get a GPS fix and then plan a route. This is very frustrating and not sure why it is happening. I exit the program completely each time I have finished with it and clear existing routes but still it takes ages to get a fix. Any ideas anyone?
Also I have seen mention of version 3.07 - how do I upgrade to this and is it worth doing.
Sorry if this is basic stuff but am a bit slow on these things!
Thanks

It may not be a problem of TomTom 2.22 - do you see the same lag with other GPS programs like Crux_View or WinFast Navigator?

Judging by your Navigator version your GPS receiver seems to be very old.

3.07 has some advantages over 2.22, namely Itinerary mode. But the upgrade is not free, and I am not sure if they actually still do an upgrade from v2 to v3.

Hi nesling99,

If you’re still using TTNav 2.xx, then you should upgrade to the latest version, which is TTNav 2.24. If you click on the link you’ll start the download from TomTom’s website.

You might also want to use TT GPS Driver 2.07, if you’re not already using it. You can download that from here.

You’ve missed the discount upgrade to TTNav 3, which expired on 31 December 2004. So if you want it you’ll have to pay full price for it.

Regards,
