TomTom navigator 2004 problems with Arkon gps

Hi,

I have the tomtom navigator 2004 software for my Palm Tungsten C. I purchased the TTN04 to use with my recently purchased arkon gps (http://www.arkon.com/gpsmount.html). Well the first handful of times they were working correctly with each other but the last few times I try to get them connected but the software does not recognize the gps. I then have to unplug and replug the gps to my palm and reset the gps configuration over and over again till it finally reconizes it. Today however, I tried the "method" I just typed above but this time it reconized it after a few times of reconfiguring the gps but then it lost the signal right away and then re recognized the gps. The whole time driving home the TTN04 software was droping the gps signal and regaining it.
Does anyone know why it is doing this?
