Hi,

I'm nearly decided to purchase CoPilot Live 5 but need a bit more info :

1) Are there any problems installing it with Windows 98SE. Looking through the Forum some posters have mentioned difficulties.

2) Once you have registered and obtained the product key can it be re-used each time you need to re-install ( eg after a crash etc) on the same pda or do you have to get a new one for every re-install ?

3) Can you zoom in and out of the Destination screen ? If so how far can you zoom out.?

4) Can the Where am I function be used at any time to show your current location and again how far can you zoom in/out ?

Thanks,

Alan

I think CoPilot Live 5 is strictly for a PPC install. They sell a separate product called Laptop 8 which is for the laptop.

Not sure about your other question.

1) Win98 should be ok as long as you have a serial cradle. For USB you need at least Win98SE

2) if you keep the Pocket PC then the key stays the same. You can transfer your license from one Pocket PC to another.

3) you can zoom out all the way to shwing the complete map. A bit impractical, if you ask me

4) yes. again, zoom is from min (100 yards I guess) to max. No limitation.

Are you saying that CoPilot Live 5 can be installed on a laptop running Windows XP?

I am saying it can be installed USING WinXP. You will be able to cut maps and create routes on the PC and then download them to the Pocket PC or Smartphone.

You cannot use this version to navigate with the PC - for that you need the "Laptop 8" version of CoPilot.

Thanks for the info, just one last question - can you set a destination by selecting a map view or approximate location, zooming in and then selecting a point on the map (i.e if you don't have an accurate address/post code or co-ordinates) - an example might be that a camp site is described as 200m after a certain road junction. ?

I was wondering how? I've seen this in TT but I can't figure it out in Copilot - unless I guess a town and zoom in, but what it I want to find a location within a city or in the middle of know where?

Cheers

tap and hold the place on the map that you want to use, and then tap "Add as stop"

Thanks, but am I correct in saying I need to know where I'm going before I can open the maps?

Cheers

Not sure I understand your question. You can find the nearby intersection, just the generic town, or even Lat/Lon coordinates.

Please describe your issue again.

I'm not sure I even understand it myself now, but I think I've worked it out, if I want to view the map of an area I simply put in the city, get to the "going to" screen then highlight the city and select the "map" option- easy when you think about it - it's a bit long winded but no real hassle.

Cheers
