I've had a look around and can't find an answer to this question. Does anyone know whether it's possible to use alternative grid systems with the TomTom GPS software? I've no problems in this country when I'm using the Navigator software, but would like to be able to use the system purely as a GPS unit when I'm using paper maps. I'm not looking for electronic maps, just the facility to get the TomTom GPS program to display co-ordinates in other formats (OS Grid for example) instead of lat and long. I'm also off to Australia in a few weeks so would like to be able to use the GPS facility with the local maps.
Thanks. _________________ HP iPAQ hx4700 (1.00.09 ENG), TomTom Navigator 3, Seidio G2500 Mount, Franson GpsGate v1.10c, GPSdash2, Anquet Digital Maps |

This is not possible. TomTom only supports WGS84
It's a moot question anyhow since TomTom doesn't accept any other maps. _________________ Lutz

I'm not looking to use it with electronic maps. I just want to use the TomTom GPS program (listed seperately to TomTom Navigator in the Start menu) to give me co-ordinate readouts based on alternate grid systems (as you can with a Garmin handheld for example). I don't need my position overlaid onto electronic maps - I'll be using it in countries not covered by electronic maps anyway. I'm just not very good working in Latitude and Longtitude and trying to translate my postion onto a paper map!
That said, from your reply I'm obviously out of luck with TomTom. Can anyone recommend any other software for a pocket PC which can work with different co-ordinate systems? _________________ HP iPAQ hx4700 (1.00.09 ENG), TomTom Navigator 3, Seidio G2500 Mount, Franson GpsGate v1.10c, GPSdash2, Anquet Digital Maps |

Have a look at OziExplorer - they claim to support a variety of Datums _________________ Lutz
