I've been installing the UK post code add on to my Dell Axim X5 with TT3. Having followed all the instructions, I now try and launch the software and get the message:
'Cannot find ukpostcode (or one of its components)m Make sure the path and filename are correct etc etc....

Can anyone offer any advice on what I've done wrong???

The problem is probably that you haven't got the Navigator SDK components installed correctly. One easy way to install them is to install CheckPOInt, even if you don't plan to use it.

Thanks for the message. I had tried that as well David, but still no luck. Any other suggestions to try?

From the Digitools Download page, download the TomTom Interface Package and extract the 'TTNControl.arm.CAB' file from the .zip.

Copy this to your iPAQ and on the iPAQ use File Manager to locate it. Double tap to install. When complete the .cab file will delete itself .

That should fix it.

Also tried that already!
Just re-checked by trying to do this again, and I got the message 'Palmtop BV TTNControl is already installed'.
Therefore I didn't try to re-install.

When you get the error, are you launching the executable directly or via a shortcut? If shortcut, try launching the .exe directly to see if it is the shortcut that is the issue.

Darren, thanks for the idea. I had also thought this may be the problem and tried launching from the actual file rather than the shortcut. Exactly same problem though.
Do you think it is likely to be a compatability issue?

I wouldn't have thought so, where is the UKPostCode .exe and database located? Are they in the same folder?

So long as the TTNControl.arm.CAB is installed and the .exe and database are co-located in a folder then it normally just works.

Had the same problem - turned out I had downloaded the wrong version! Go back to the site and try the one you did not download in the first place (can't remember the nemes, but there are only two versions - one for ARM and one for something else)

Yep! It seems you were right! Thanks for that - really appreciate it. Bit confused why a new Dell PDA needed the version for PocketPC 2002 rather than Windows Mobile 2003, I would have thought it would have been the more recent version?

On a separate note, I have a question some of you may be able to help me out with in relation to guest partnerships. When I connect the PDA as a guest, unless I start to explore the PDA almost immediately using my home PC it somehow manages to lose a 'type' of connection. What I mean by that is that activesync still shows it connected, yet the icon in the bottom corner of my PDA screen disappears and I get the audible disconnect tone. If I then try to explore the PDA using my home PC the only file or folder that shows is one called 'databases', instead of all the normal windows, my documents etc. However, if I begin to explore the connection appears to remain. I realise this sounds a bit weird, has anyone seen this before or know what might be causing it?
