Hi All,

I have a problem with the BT -308 Gps reciever and the Dell Axim X50v - the BlueTooth manager communicates with the Bt-308 unit however the GPS tuner and GPS Info utilities do not present any info as if they do not communicate wilth the device .

When I installed the BT-308 drivers/utilities I got a message saying that the software was intended for a previous OS (I am assuming PocketPC 2002) and my dell uses the windows mobile 2003 SE .

I tried e-mailing GlobalSat to see if they have new drivers but it has been 3 days and I got no reply (needless to say I am VERY disapointed with GlobalSat ).

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards,
Sagi

Hi ther,

you don't actually need drivers for the receiver. Maybe the message was about the GPS test program that may have come with the receiver.

Are you able to use the BlueTooth manager on the Axim to discover the receiver, and to connect to its serial port service?

The prompt saying that the software is meant for a previous version of the operating system comes up on various applications. It's almost always benign - if you press OK, the chances are that the application will work. If it doesn't, the chances are that it will cause no harm and you should be able to uninstall it cleanly.
