Dear All
Grateful for any advise with the following.
I have tomtom3 running on my ipaq 3970, however yesterday for some unknown reason I got the msg :-
Unable to find maps, reinstall an original tomtom3 map.
I removed all the tomtom3 prgrams and reinstalled from original cd and all worked.
However when driving the screen refresh seems a little more jerky, i.e. does not seem to follow the road as smooth as it did before.
It kind of jumps to the next position every second, and I'm sure is was a little quicker and smoother before.
The GPS is Haicom 203e and I have tried differant gps drivers from tomtom gps to haicom to the nme v2 4800 all seem the same.
Grateful for any ideas or advise.
Kind regards
Andrew |

It DOES update the position every second. Maybe you have seen a GO or 2004 installation (they update the screen more frequently).
Did you recently install a lot of POIs ? _________________ Lutz

Hi Lutz
I have only installed Speed camera's and checkpoint.
Could it be these that have caused the refresh to jerk more, I'm sure it was more smooth before.
Would changing the memory bar status more from the central position towards the programs or storage maybe speed up the refresh or make it smoother.
Many thanks

The memory bar won't be the answer - if necessary, Pocket PC moves it by itself.
You may find performance increases if you don't show add-in POI files (or turn off the display of POI icons); software like CheckPOInt can still work even if the POIs are not displayed on the map.
