As the subject line states I am interested in the format for the Navman POI files. I know you build your own with a simple .csv format but these files are converted by a POI compiler program in the desktop program into a completely different format and it's this I want to know about.

I have used a file editor to look at the files but they appear to be encripted or compressed in some way so no help there.

In case you are wondering why I want to know this I have noticed that you get a lot more info about the built in POI's (telephone numbers etc.) however when you add your own you can only have one info field. Many POI's do have the telephone number included in this single field but since there is a limited number of characters displayed the telephone numbers are 'off screen' which is is not really helpfull.

I'm a programmer so I'll hopefully be able to write a converter to make the files more useful in this area!

Or am I missing something and you can scroll through the text to the telephone numbers?

Is anyone able to help?

Richard

Have you tried inserting a \n just before the phone number?

Thanks for the suggestion but the Navman software ignores the \n control. In fact it just prints it as part of the name string eg. "ASCOT\N0132 etc".

The search for an answer continues... Smile
