Is this typical? i someitmes need to wait 5-8 seconds for the unit to allow me to enter next character, while the hourglass symbol on the top left corner.

could my sd card cause it? i have a 32x 1GB Lexar.

how many maps do you have selected as active? if you have more than one or two active maps (settings\maps\memory card\), it slows everything down and making the unit crash prone.
