No, that's not possible, at least not in TomTom. Windows Media Player may have a feature to disble the touchscreen, and if you are lucky this can be made into a global function. But I wouldn't hold my breath - after all the touchscreen is the main user interface after the screen. _________________ Lutz

Sorry I misunderstood you. I thought you wanted to turn the touch screen off but you still wanted to see the scren info. If that's not the case then yes, there are programs available that switch the entire screen off. (Again, Media player can do this, too) _________________ Lutz

what i needed was something that would allow tomtom to work in the background just giving me voice guidance because the pda would be in an inside pocket of my jacket.(i dont need to see the screen most of the time on the bike, plus its keeps the pda away from the elements which are bad at 70-80 mph). :D
being inside my jacket the movement of my jacket made selections i didnt want .
i didnt work out how to do it with media player but if this free program works whilst out on the road i will be over the moon.
thanks for your response though and if you have any other suggestions please let me know.
this forum is great thanks
