C500 traffic signup help please!

Hi

My TomTom Mobile arrived this morning and loving it already, although a slight problem with getting traffic activated...

I have created an account (using my email address) at tomtom.com from my laptop, that all logs in ok. I have entered my product ID in the relevant place (but it does indicate no products are "activated" - not sure at all how to do that).

On my C500 when selecting 'activate traffic' it says it will connect to tomtom.com, then it asks for username. What is this?? It cannot be the email adr as it won't allow enough digits or @. I do not have another username and tried putting a newone to create and that doesn't work.

Anyone any ideas at all please - tearing my hair out here!!!

I really think this could be to due with the product not being activated. When I exit the CD menu and asks if I want to register, it goes online and I get this error "- could not read pagedefinition 'register_windows mobile' -"

Is this a c500 related error?

log into mytomtom from the tomtom main site. Go the the traffic sub menu there and follow the instructions.

P.S. the instructions did not work for me, as there was an error, so I had to contact tomtom support and wait a week for my traffic account. but it SHOULD work from there so go try it first

When i logged onto the Tom Tom support area using my email address and password i was emailed the correct username and password to use to connect on to the traffic when i regsitered for the trial

As Brian says, you need to go via My TomTom to register for Traffic - though I don't know precisely how the signup works for TomTom Mobile, as I've only ever signed up for Traffic using TomTom Navigator 3.

Your TomTom Traffic user name and password come via My TomTom and look nothing like your email address. From memory, my Traffic user name is three letters and three numbers.
