DC230 woes

OK, I guess I was not clear enough.

Since I did not get any response from Dconnex (according to the HongKong chamber of commerce the company is "suspended", whatever that may be).

What I did was purchase the datacable for a 210 (Holux or Dconnex, all the same, some 12 Euro -> 16 USD) because I could not get a decent connection with Bluetooth. Not on my PDA, not on my Laptop. I connected the DC230 to my laptop, started up SirfDemo (just google, free download) and fiddled around with the baudrate until I got connected. did a factory reset and placed it in open sky for an hour or so.

That did the job for me. Since that, I haven't encountered any issues and I'm as happy as a puppy with my DC230. Needless to say, I am VERY cautious not to drain it again...

Resetting after charging for 24 hours did not work for me either.

Luckily My Holux GR-230 was in warranty and had it fixed for cost of shipping.

I still can not believe how there can be such a fundamental design flaw. Got to be careful not to drain the battery again.
