Hi folks

Apologies if this has been answered already but i couldn't find it.

I am running SmartST 1.91 on an IPaq 3970 in a Navman sleeve. I would like to add a database of cameras.

Am I right in thinking the only way to do this is to pay a hefty sum for a new version of SmartST and then import a camera list as a POI file.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Jon

Yes, you do need V3 to make use of the $afety Camera database. But it depends on what you call hefty. You could get the UK only for £79, or the full monty for £150.

If you dont want to buy SmartSTv3 software and UK maps @ £79, alternatives are:
TomTom Navigator 3 software and UK maps for around £95 or
CoPilot 5 software and UK maps for around £135

Thanks guys. Excellent feedback, and within two hours (!)

I suppose if I asked which was the best software of the three I would be just opening a debate that has already run, so maybe I shouldn't . . .

Bear in mind if you do decide to buy Smart STv3 you can still use your v1.91 Navteq maps with it Thumbs Up

Are you sure you can use 1.91? I thought it was only from 1.96 onwards.

Thank you for reading the manual. This all helps.

My thoughts now are my Ipaq and sleeve are both fine, but not worth throwing another £80 at. i.e. when i change Ipaq the sleeve won't fit.

So might I be better off buying a combined bluetooth gps receiver and software package at £170 (TomTom 3 from handtec.com) which would save me from clumsily mounting my Ipaq in its sleeve.

So I am now asking in a navman forum as to the suitability of another product altogether. Doh!

If I need to start again in another forum just tell me, but i get the impression you guys will have some feedback on this too, I hope so anyway,

Thanks again.

Jon

Why not wait until January and buy the Navman Bluetooth receiver and SmartST V3 maps? But yes, if you want more feedback on a Tomtom product, post in a Tomtom forum.

You can do it with your current Navman, read about it here:
