This could well be a memory card problem.

Please post the type (SD, MMC or CompactFlash), brand, size and any markings on the memory card you've installed the maps on.

For example, I'd post

1GB Lexar 32x SD card

LEXAR MEDIA
SD1GB-100M
1204452
A0405078
MADE IN U.S.A.

Toshiba
SD 256 mem
0444IJ6562H

Also I have received an e mail from Tomtom who say that there are compatibilty issues with the GPS driver and a 2210. I have downloaded the latest version (3.070 and it still froze up. They then told me to disable the POI which I have done. Have not used it since to see if they is a problem.

I'm afraid the easiest solution by far is to get a CF Card and store your maps on that.

why? what is the difference. Also here is the copy of the e mail that TT sent to me:

Dear Mr hibberd,

Thank you for your e-mail.
Would suggest that you download and install the latest GPS driver (3.02).

www.tomtom.com Support/FAQs 'Update 3.07 for TomTom GPS for Pocket PC
http://www.tomtom.com/support/rightnow.php?p_prod_lvl1=%7Eany%7E&p_new_search=&p_search_type=&p_search_text=3.07

Perform a soft reset of the PDA.Go to Start/Settings REMOVE PROGRAMS and REMOVE the TOMTOM GPS'
then make another soft reset and install the 3.02 and then run a set again

If you are already using the 3.07 version please try the following.

Disable the POIs:
Navigator/Navigator menu/ properties/POI/Uncheck the upper box

We hope to have answered your question to your satisfaction.
With best regards,

The TomTom Customer Support Team

I really wanted to use the POI for gatsos. Can you suggest anything please?

Because the combination of a 2210 and BT GPS with maps on SD card is a known issue, if you search on those terms here you will see the history.

This only affects GPS Nav and maps, .mp3s and other files run fine off SD cards and indeed in some cases a few users have had success with SD but they are in the minority.

The issue does not manifest itself if you use CF Cards for map storage or if you have a non-BT GPS.

If that's really a Toshiba SD card (though the codes aren't like those I recognise as a Toshiba manufactured card), the card shouldn't be a problem.

Don't forget that you don't need POIs displayed to use them in CheckPOInt or similar.

As Darren says, there are people who have found that the combination of an iPAQ h2210, Bluetooth GPS, TomTom Navigator 3 and SD card doesn't work well - putting your maps onto a CompactFlash card is one easy way out of the troubles.
