Having bit the bullet and bought myself an Xmas pressie (i.e. TTM) to replace my ageing PPC and TT3. I received this today for my C500. Works fine apart from TTT - I cannot get it to connect. I have downloaded the update, updated the phone, subscribed to TTT and all seems fine. WHen in TTM I try 'updating traffic information' and the icons appears in the top right. However, I always recieve the error 'cannot connect - check your internet connection'. Syncing on ActiveSync works fine so there is no problem there. |

Traffic is working for me (connecting on my Pocket PC based setup via Wi-Fi using my routed ADSL connection).
Can you access the net using Internet Explorer on your SmartPhone when not connected via ActiveSync? If not, you have a GPRS problem rather than a TomTom Traffic problem.

Everything else is fine - all IE pages work, ActiveSync works etc. Traffic does not connect. |

What happens if you try to access t.tt1.nl in Internet Explorer on your phone? That's the server used for TomTom Traffic according to my router.
I just tried it on my hx4700 and got, as I'd expect, a "Forbidden" page.
ActiveSync is not relevant here and may be confusing as it can provide passthrough connectivity via your computer. What you're interested in is Traffic working via the GPRS connection from your phone.
I have noticed that Traffic can be rather slow to start downloading points over GPRS - but the server is certainly working at the moment.
I don't know whether there's any need to create a GPRS connection manually on a SmartPhone. I know I had to do this with TomTom Navigator 3 on a Pocket PC until I switched to the WM2003SE iPAQ hx4700 - even though other applications autodialled correctly.
Hopefully someone who uses Traffic on the SmartPhone will be able to provide some more help.
