Hi all

Was travelling on the inside lane through the roadworks on the M11 tonight (doing maybe 35 in a 40) when a car came past me (foreign plates), speeding and triggering the camera - they weren't going that much faster but I guess it was enough.

Paniced for a moment until I realised I was under the limit - there's not going to be any chance of me getting done for this is there, especially as the other car was foreign and they won't be able to get him?

I guess the photo gets all 3 lanes so it will be obvious that it was the other guy?

Stupid question I know, but I've never actually been flashed before in 13 years of driving!

I was on the M4 today. Stuck in traffic by Heston between J2-J3. I noticed the car in front had Kuwaiti plates. Just as I was thinking about how long a drive that must have been he pulled out into the M4 bus lane and sped off. Not a bad idea if you have foreign plates Wink .

What annoys me about the M4 bus lane is that you never see any buses on it Evil or Very Mad . It seems mainly for the use of Tony Blair to speed into London on. Coincidentally, another country has a special highway lane for the use of their leader - North Korea.

PJN, the camera should have flashed more than once. If that's the case then it will be monitoring both (or all) lanes and it should be able to record easily the extra distance travelled by the faster car. However, I know I'm always the same when I see a car coming along faster in the outside lane near a camera, I tend to brake to make sure I'm way under the limit.

If the camera only flashed once, the chances are it's out of film, or not functioning because it needs to flash more than once to see how many lines you've crossed (those white lines on the road).

You don't have to see a speed camera flash to be photographed - unless I'm misremembering, Truvelos use infra-red flash and infra-red film.

I can't remember the technicalities of single versus double flash with a Gatso.
