Hi Adds,

Welcome to the forum. Thumbs Up

Yes TomTom Navigator 3 can work with the PocketGPS World camera POIs. Have a look at the following link: (I know that it says TomTom Navigator 2, but it does also work for TomTom Navigator 3):

http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/uksafetycameras.php

I’d recommend trying CheckPOInt 2.0.2 first, which can be downloaded from the download page on this website.

Any problems then just shout! ;)

Regards,

Hi,

I have installed Checkpoint onto my PDA, thats working but I still do not have the spped camera POI on there.

How do I do this? I'm new to all this and your help would be appreciated.

When I install the Sppedcamera database will it remove all the MAP et that are all ready on my PDA?

Hi Adds,

Download the zipped file from here and unzip it. You will find several files with .OV2 and .BMP extensions. You have the option of the following:

Arrow pocketgps_continental: Continental Europe speed check sites
Arrow pocketgps_uk_gatso: UK fixed site speed check camera
Arrow pocketgps_uk_mobile: UK mobile site speed check
Arrow pocketgps_uk_redlight: UK fixed site red traffic light cameras
Arrow pocketgps_uk_specs: UK fixed “average timed zone” camera system

Once you’ve decided which POIs you want then copy their .OV2 and .BMP files to your relevant map folder.

Shutdown and restart TTNav3 and you should be able to see them. All you need to do then is to configure CheckPOInt to detect them.

No, installing the speed camera POIs will not affect your map data or other POIs.

Regards,

Yes

That’s down to you. Which ones do you want to be warned about?

No, the CheckPOInt that I use is for the PDA only.

You do need to ensure that you can transfer data to the PDA via MS ActiveSync. If your map folder is on a storage card then you can also use a card reader for transferring data.

Could you also update your profile so we know which country you're in. It does help when we answer questions.

Finally, it's best to ask a question in the forum and not to use PM (Private Messaging), especially if you are asking another question that relates to an active thread. This is because anybody can jump in and help. Thumbs Up

Hi Adam,

You need to use .WAV files, which you can select, in CheckPOInt when you set it up.

The “official” CheckPOInt English sound files can be downloaded from here. Although you can use your own recordings or the following website:

http://www.naturalvoices.com

Other members on this forum have created their own and if you search through the forums you will find the links.

I’d create a folder on your storage card called “sounds” and place the .WAV files in there.

You can then point CheckPOInt to those files for notification.

Have a look at the CheckPOInt website and click on the link for the manual:
http://checkpoint.oabsoftware.nl/

With CheckPOInt, I don't think it matters that much - I don't think there's a problem selecting files in any folder.
