I am having some real difficulties trying to get the iPaq 4700 and Holux GS receiver to communicate and would appreciate any help on this matter. I have followed the setup routine given by the Holux book to the letter and seem to get everything they show on the Blue Tooth setup OK. The Holux registers on the PDA a SPP Slave as indicated in the book.
When I connect as instructed again all seems to go well, the Holux flashes every 1 sec on the blue led indicating connection ok. All starts to go pear shaped when I try and get data by the GPS viewer program or by Tomtom. According to the scan by the GPS Viewer there are no GPS devices conected to the PDA (I double checked it was still connected in the wireless manager of the PDA). Tomtom is set to Bluetooth GPS on COM 5 but again seems to receive no data.
The only weird thing I have noticed is that when the PDA first connects to the Holux is that I get a full set of green signal strengths which whthin 5 secs goto 1 red signal strenghs no matter how close or far away I am to the receiver. The comms drops after about 90 secs at this point.
Is there a problem with the Holux or is there a setting I am missing. Any help is much appreciated |
