Advice please

I am thinking of buying a navigation unit for the car but not quite sure on which to get, I have read with great interest the many useful comments in the forums and I have now, I think, narrowed it down to either the Halfords Medion PNA100 or the Tom Tom Go. I do go walking a fair bit and (being as I probably wouldn't have a lot of use for a PC away from home) I think the TTG might win, BUT can anyone please advise me whether things like Memory Map etc. can be used on TTG and also does one have the facility to plan routes on the desktop computer prior to a trip and then enter it to the TTG as you can on a PDA.

The GO is a all-in-one device that is completely locked to TomTom Navigator software. You cannot easily install other software (unless you have in-depth knowledge of Linux for mobile devices).

In addition it is a little on the bulky side to be used for walking.
