tomtom bluetooth cradle

I have the bluetooth cradle as supplied by tom tom. I would like to hard wire it into my car, but am a bit reluctant to do this as i remember reading somewhere that the cradle was being cited as a reason for early failure of the unit due to constant power on (overcharging). Looking on the tom tom website at "whats in the box" for the bluetooth package it shows no cradle supplied. Tom tom answer emails pretty quickly but don`t reallly give me the answer i need. their answer is "there are no issues regarding the cradle that we are aware of". If this is true why do they no longer supply it in the box? Can anyone confirm that it will be OK to fit the cradle and free up my dash of spaghetti or point me to a link that details the problem i`ve heard of.

The cradle will make absolutely no difference when compared with the in-car charger. The in-car charger and the cradle have exactly the same regulator chip inside that regulates the car voltage down to the five volts required for the BT unit.

The TT BT unit has a charge control inside it which cuts off when the battery is fully charged.

I have had no problems at all with using the cradle and in one car, I leave the BT unit in the cradle at all times.
