oem Units - GPS 15H vs GPS 25 HVS

Hello,

I am planning on installing an GPS system in my vehicle with an externally mounted GPS antenna. I've been looking at the oem sol'n by Garmin, but can't decide on which model to go with. Size is not an issue for me.

but what is an issue is satelite fix quality and positioning accuracy under foilage. Looking at the specs I can't see much other then the GPS 15H is WAAS enabled.

Which one would you guys recommend I go with? Any other oem type you guys would recommend instead? I've really been wanting the Sirf starIII sol'n at -159dbm, but I can't find anything being released yet.

I have owned a GPS 25HVS for quite a few years - it's been magnetically attached to 6 cars since then. It's given me trouble free use over all that time. I have no hesitation in recommending it.

I use it with my old trusty iPaq 3600 (64Mb version) with both TTN 3 and OziExplorer CE.

I also have a GPSII+ with an external powered antennae - but tend to use this with my bike (push-bike) and when I go sailing/walking. It's an even older unit - still on V2.11 s/w - but I really only use it for 'basic' GPS functions using it with OziExplorer on the iPAQ for walking etc.
