I wish Tomtom 3 could ......

Hi,
I am running TT3 (3.03) and it's great. I am a beginner and maybe these questions have been answered? Some features would be nice...

1. I wish when you are in Navigator mode without a planned route it would give the names of some of the side streets you are passing by. Sure it gives you the name of the road you are actually on but it is sometimes nice to confirm where you are, for example if you just past Queens Road on your left it would be nice if this was indicated on the map in TT3 3D mode. I cannot find how to set this up in Advanced Settings....

2. I wish TT3 would indicate traffic lights by a simple icon or some dots on the screen to represent them. It is nice to know that you will have some lights to contend with in x number of seconds and you need to start looking at lane markers. As good as TT3 is, I tripped up on this one in heavy traffic since the lane markings were covered by cars - if TT3 told me about this, or at least that lights were ahead I could have approached with a little more caution regarding my road position with respect to the lanes.

3. POI's. No pubs on the POI list - not that I can see. Often directions are "turn right at the Dog and Duck". Okay, maybe TT3 can't have the actual names of the pubs but it would be nice if it could indicate them so that you know that they are coming up.

4. On an unplanned route - i.e. with Navigator just on showing where you are going I wish TT3 could still tell you if Traffic cameras are coming up. I have activated this with Checkpoiint and PGPS speed camera database and it does not work without having a route in memory.

re number 1 - this is probably coming in nav 4 - it's in the go software.

re number 2 - this would have to be included in the map data and I'm not sure that it is....

re Number 3 - this is the joy of sat nav - no more crap directions from mates saying turn left 100 yards after the dog & duck - put the destination in and follow the voice.

re number 4 - this should work without problems (Have you turned guidance off and left the sound on (if it works with a route it should work without?) - I have no problem with checkpoint doing this at all.

Also - not related to above but there is a new update 3.07 which appears to speed operation up a little.

I use TT3 for traffic cams all the time - just select switch guidance off. It works with or without a destination. In fact, you can have a destintaion in without knowing it with the guidance off.
