I today updated the SmartST 2005 service pack on my 520, only to find it now gives me US male and female voice choices only and Zip Code search instead of Post Code.

Anyone any idea how I rectify this or why it changed in the first place. I did select UK English onsceen during the process.

You are not alone in getting this problem. When the Service Pack was released many users encountered it.

The solution

You can get the Language flag page to appear on start up without resetting the SD card. Just go to preferences / more preferences/ Startup and check the language selection box. When you restart the full selection page will appear.

Tried the download with no success. Went onto website and downloaded Patcher80.exe then followed instructions and was asked to insert purchase disc into CD drive. All it said then was waiting......

Am I doing something wrong.

Hi
Make a folder on your desktop called GPS downloads then go to.
http://www.navman.co.uk/
Then to free downloads BTM LHS of page.
Follow instructions depending on if you have a 510 or a 520
1. language for me Welsh. “I wish”
2. Platform iCN
3. Product 510 or 520
4. Software V3 or 2005
5. Availability will auto generate
6. Download Mirror 1

Then either save to the above folder you have created or open as is.
It’s that simple.
Then do as "nortonbeak" sugests

Thanks for the early reply.
I now have patcher80 saved on my Desktop, however when I open it I am still asked to put my CD into the drive. Then a folder TA-UK-v2-10-013 (ESmile is opened and I am told to wait by the Navman Update.

How do I get it to update my Smart ST 2005 Programme??

Your help is appreciated.

Hi
When asked you insert the install disk (not a map disc), it should then say it has found it. It will then ask you to select (in my case) English Australian, UK, US, I select the UK, it then gives me a description of what it dose, then click on the down load icon. It then gives you the option to install it or save.
You are connected to the net while you are doing so.

Thanks a lot for the help. I thought I only had one CD and was using the map one!!!!!!!!!!!
I think I am Ok now - there was a slight problem when I first updated my Icn after the download when it said that there was not enough memory on the device. However after the second go it appears to have worked.
Thanks again.

New into this. I have upgraded software - I thought. Went to Navman site, updated with Patcher80.exe (only patch available) but my 510 says version 3.00.1008, when I reset black screen gives same version and my PC says the same. A little confused. Tried updating again, but same version. (Bought unit in USA for USA travel)

Also want to upgrade my 510 to 520 software, does this work? and REAL advantages.

Agree with all others, getting used to its quirks takes a little time.
