Hi,

New to TT3 and i like it so far. One thing i find though is that it is very difficult to avoid motorways, is there a simple tick box someware when entering a route to say no to motorways??

I have seen the quickest / shortest but that gives me the same way.

Also are there any settings to say i want to go from here to there, via this place??

Cheers

You can only avoid motorways that are on your current route. You cannot generally avoid them. (unlike Mapopolis, to name just one program)

You can go into 'advanced properties' and amend the speed for motorways from the default 65 mph to a much lower value, motorways will not be so attractive then.

Regards,

Steve.

using "itinerary" gives the same result as a "vias" with the advantage you can save the route.

Hi, new here.

I do as SteveW, I go into properties, advanced, scroll down to default speeds and change motorways to 5 mph (I haven't tried 'zero') and get a route avoiding motorways.

You can change other major roads to a very low speed such as 5 mph to obtain a route on minor roads. We've found this to be very successful.

Mug is right, Itineraries performs this task. I have found them very useful when planning routes in Europe.

The itinerary feature has a lot of uses - particularly when you realise that you can tap and hold to load and save itinerary files (as someone else mentioned).

In my opinion it was the best new feature in Navigator 3.

Setting Drive By points allows you to force routing to what you want - rather than what TomTom chooses itself.
