ARe tomtom european maps only for Navigator 2? or 3?

Hiya

I am about to bid in some european maps on ebay. However one chao has said that the european maps will only work with tomtom navigator 1 and 2? Tomtom 3 uses different maps hence isnt comaptible with navigator 2 map or the european maps???


I can seem to find any refernce to it?

I thought that the european maps are just map dat for a country and will work with tomtom 2 or 3?

That's correct, maps for versions 1 and 2 were interchangeable.

The map data format was modified in version 3 and these cannot be used in versions 1 or 2 and vice versa.

If you have Tomtom Navigator 3 then you can only use V3 maps. Unless the maps are brand new and sealed I would avoid buying from eBay. If they have been registered already and you have problems TomTom will not assist.
