Good question! Not only are the hardware options expanding at quite a rate, so are the software options (which is my current concern)! If you can, hold off making a decision until all the products are released and available and have been reviewed.
I currently have the EMTAC BTGPS and it has been no problem at all - a great product. The one feature I would like that's on the new Leadtek is the removable battery pack. I currently just carry a battery extender, which I suppose does a similar job to carrying a spare battery.

There will be a wave of BT GPS coming out in the next few months. If you wait a bit, you will be spoilt for choice.
We also have development something along the line.
Bluetooth for GPS is the next trend.

Dave
It all seems to have gone quiet on the Ledatek BT GPS. Do you have any news...?

Unless I'm very mistaken, the Leadtek is the unit TomTom have rebadged as the TomTom Bluetooth GPS.

The TomTom BT GPS is the Leadtek 9821x. I'm not sure what's happened with the Leadtek, it maybe that they've agreed not to release it for x months to fulfill TomTom's requirement, or maybe they're just not able to churn out enough units at present. |

The unit seems to be available in Germany but nowhere else. Maybe it's just a "test" market, but that doesn't make a lot of sense when many other Bluetooth receivers are available. It's a bit like the 9534 CF card, whatever happened to that one? |

I've read numerous appraises on this unit from Taiwan and I am wondering what do you think outside of Taiwan ?
I plan to buy a 9537 next year as the price is really quite attractive, less than C$200 or 100 GBP. |

The new GPS9537/HS should be available in February and will feature SiRF Xtrac software allowing navigation in obscured locations ('indoor' GPS).
It does work very well in car parks, and allows very good navigation in city environments.
We should have it available very soon.
